Programmes shaped around how different desks actually buy and run foil.

Programmes, not one-off cartons of foil

Trade printers want predictable reorders and a phone number that answers during make-ready. Packaging converters want batch continuity across seasonal reprints. Brand owners want a spec pack their printer can actually run. Label houses care about narrow widths and tension behaviour. Leather workshops care about heat and die polish. Security printers care about controlled lots.

Each solution page spells out how we work with that desk: what we stock at Jet Park, what we indent, and what we need on the PO. It is less glamorous than a mood film, and it keeps Friday nights quieter when a Cape Town converter calls about soft-touch adhesion.

For Gauteng trade floors we keep Aurum Gold, Argent Silver and common pigment widths on the shelf so a rush carton does not wait on a slow boat. Indent lines (matched pigment, security microtext, odd diffraction pitches) come with batch notes so the next reprint does not drift. Pair this hub with the product families and the press settings sheet before you lock a dieline.

Short-run studios in Braamfontein or Woodstock often need smaller rolls and faster colour swaps than a long carton plant in Pinetown. Education desks borrow sample kits so students see release profiles on real board, not only on a PDF. If your programme sits between two audiences, say so early and we will route you to the right counter in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban or Pretoria.

When a make-ready stalls, mail finishes@stampingfoil.co.za with stock, press type and a phone photo of the dull patch. We would rather talk heat and dwell than send another brochure. See also applications for where the foil usually lands, and technical help when the floor is already mid-job.

Converters who reorder every fortnight get a simple standing note on preferred widths so the pick face stays honest. Brand owners who only foil twice a year get a longer brief and a reminder to re-check soft-touch compatibility when the carton stock changes supplier. Both paths are fine; mixing them on one PO is where trouble starts.

We also keep an eye on regional courier cut-offs. A late Friday indent from Gqeberha will not magically appear on a Pinetown floor Monday morning. Plan the boring logistics with the same care as the shine. That is the whole point of a programme desk.

If you are switching from another foil house, bring a used roll core or a failed sheet. Seeing the carrier and the laydown tells us more than a brand name on a quotation. We will map an equivalent or say honestly when we cannot.
